DAYTROTTER TRIP: APRIL 3RD, NOON

What Daytrotter is About:

"What Daytrotter is attempting to do is to not kid around with you and tell you that we found something that you never knew existed. We’re going to give you something that you truly have never heard. We’re giving you exclusive, re-worked, alternate versions of old songs and unreleased tracks by some of your favorite bands and by a lot of your next favorite bands."

Daytrotter Sessions:

"These fine people – as they’re traveling through America’s heartland – take two hours out of their travels between shows to stop in for a Daytrotter Session at Futureappletree Studio One in downtown Rock Island, Ill. They use borrowed instruments, play with their touring mates, utilize an often unkempt toilet, eat some food and then cram back into their vans for the last half of the drive. What they leave behind is a pile of ashes, sometimes a forgotten stocking hat and four absolutely collectible songs that often impart on whomever listens to them the true intensity that these musicians put into their art, sometimes with more clarity than they do when they have months to tinker with overdubs and experiments. These songs are them as they are on that particular day, on that particular tour – dirty and alive. We want you to make this your new home as it is ours. We promise that you will love it here."

This trip will be amazing! First off, we are truly lucky that Daytrotter is only 2 hours away from ISU. Second, we are lucky that Sean Moeller has given us a chance to see the behind the scenes of the unique studio, promoter and booking agency that is Daytrotter.

If have questions or if you're interested in going email Brandon at bpacyna@ilstu.edu. We'll carpool, leave at 9am and make a day of it. Tell your friends!

With the economy in a downward spiral, Pete and Jof make their budget cuts too. Simple video, simple song, simply fun.

Champaign-Urbana music business tour is scheduled

Last semester we utilized Rose Marshack's (MBA advisor) connections to get tours of prominent establishments in the Chicago music scene. Tours included Electrical Audio, Chicago Recording Company, The Metro, Thrill-Jockey Records and Touch & Go Records. All very cool!

This semester Rose's connections take us to Champaign-Urbana! Only 45 minutes East of ISU lies a musical diamond in the rough. Champaign will give us an inside look into several aspects of the music industry. From Venue operations to distribution procedure, studio management to festival planning, Champaign has it all.

MBA members and all interested parties leave at 9:00am (tenatively) on the morning of March 20th. If you are an interested party then email Brandon Pacyna at bpacyna@ilstu.edu for more information!
